ERROR, PROCESS AND PROGRAM

Here we attempt to question and experience what a mistake may represent for a graphic designer and how this infraction to the.norm could be considered within a creative process to generate shapes, signs and language.
We will be exploring glitches, an electronic fault leading to a malfunction of computer equipment that became an aesthetic practice in its own right, with software being created specifically to generate them. These.anomalies often translate into geometrical shapes and changes in colour that fragment an image appearing on a computer monitor. In my research it is important to de-contextualise these anomalies, that appear only on screen, to create a birdge between multimedia and reality.
These non-material shapes, here reproduced onto tangible supports, question the status of an anomaly – the significance of these shapes is no longer the same since they now involve voluntary and controlled human intervention.
